Well, we knew it was coming.
And it still kinda hurts.
A sense of relief follows the sensation of my heart sinking, because as selfish as it may seem, I knew I couldn’t deal with seeing him in another uniform. So I guess this is… I don’t know. I guess I’ll get over it eventually?
All I really want to say to Jorge is, I guess, thanks for the memories and we will absolutely miss you. We being your enormous fan base, your teammates, and any other person that’s been lucky enough to follow you throughout the years. Thank you for all your clutch hits, all the pitchers you handled so beautifully, every brawl that you were on the top step of the dugout for, and ever single good memory (there are only good ones) that you’re leaving us with.
For me, no one can ever really replace Jorge and I’ll miss him each and every day that I watch the Yankees.
Jorge, have a wonderful retirement with your lovely wife and kids and we hope to see you soon. Especially at that Hall of Fame induction ceremony in a few years. Thank you.
going to miss him so…
